
Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between the Independent Celebrant ("the Celebrant") and the Client(s) for the provision of celebrant services. By booking the Celebrant’s services, the Client agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Services Provided
The Celebrant agrees to provide bespoke ceremony services, including but not limited to weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies, and funerals*, as agreed upon with the Client.
*including but not limited to eulogies, memorial services, celebrations of life and committal ceremonies.
3. Booking and Payment
3.1 A non-refundable deposit is required to secure the Celebrant’s services and confirm the booking (weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies).
3.2 All ceremonies, the balance of the fee must be paid in full no later than the ceremony date.
3.3 Any additional costs, such as travel expenses beyond the specified distance, will be outlined and agreed upon at consultation.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
4.1 If the Client cancels the booking, the deposit is non-refundable (weddings, vow renewals, naming ceremonies).
4.2 All ceremonies, If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the ceremony date, the full balance is payable.
4.3 If the Celebrant must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, reasonable efforts will be made to provide a suitable alternative celebrant, or a full refund will be issued.
5. Changes to the Ceremony
5.1 The Client must communicate any changes to the ceremony details at least 48 hours before the event.
5.2 The Celebrant reserves the right to decline changes that significantly alter the original agreement or fall outside their scope of services.
6. Legal Status
The Celebrant’s role is purely ceremonial and does not have legal authority to solemnize marriages. It is the responsibility of the Client to ensure that any legal formalities are completed separately.
7. Conduct and Responsibilities
7.1 The Celebrant will conduct the ceremony in a professional and respectful manner in accordance with The Funeral Celebrant Accord.
7.2 The Client agrees to provide all necessary information and cooperation required to create and perform the ceremony.
8. Liability
8.1 The Celebrant shall not be liable for circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to extreme weather, illness, or travel disruptions.
8.2 In the event of unforeseen issues, the Celebrant will make reasonable efforts to rectify the situation but cannot be held responsible for factors beyond their control.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
Any personal data provided by the Client will be used solely for the purpose of providing celebrant services and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
By confirming the booking, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
