About Me

So what do you want to know about me?

Hi, my name is Samantha Tingey and I live in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire where I have lived for most of my life.

I am the proud mum to two amazing grown up children who have now both left the nest and are embarking on their own life adventures. That leaves me with my dog Tiger (Bichon Frise) who has been my constant companion through life's ups and downs.

I recently retired from teaching, having spent 31 years working with teenagers. For the last 17 years I was Head of Special Needs in a large secondary school and worked with some complex young people and their families, supporting them through some difficult times.

My hobbies include trail running - I love a bit of mud!, meeting friends for coffee and cake, cinema and shopping, reading crime thrillers and have just got back into my art and painting again.

I also work part time as an Outdoor Education Coordinator and Duke of Edinburgh Award Manager and get the chance to take young people into the countryside and explore their surroundings as well as residential trips abroad. I have also just started volunteering for Sue Ryder and am a Grief Kind volunteer, hoping to offer support to those grieving.

If you’re looking for a celebrant who will listen, understand, and help you create a truly memorable occasion, I’d love to connect and hear your story.
